- Fire Safety: Each year during the month of October we perform a fire safety program for our pre-K, primary, and elementary school students. We talk about fire safety and things we should look for and do to prevent a fire. We talk about stop, drop and roll, stay low and go, getting parents to establish and practice an evacuation plan and meeting in a safe pre-determined place outside. For pre-K and first grade we give fire truck rides and allow them the opportunity to spray water from the fire truck and display their firefighting skills with a nozzle.
- AFD offers free fire extinguisher selection and use training to our local industry, business, Medical staff and employee’s, or group who request it.
- We also offer a smoke detector program where if you apply and qualify, we will supply and install a smoke detector in your residence for free. Applications can be picked up at fire station 2 at 730 south elm street Adel or (downloaded here) and must be returned to fire station 2 for approval.
